Stop Giving Them the “Indoctrination” Excuse for Their Behavior

You see that post? That is from a school teacher in Maryland. She is commenting on a motorcade procession for murdered Deputy Sheriff Glenn Hilliard from Wicomico County, Maryland. He was killed by a scumbag that was let go with probation before judgement and no bond. This was for the armed robbery of a restaurant and other violations.

The policeman was shot in the head while he pursued this scumbag in order to bring him in on a warrant. It was a tragic result of Maryland’s lax sentencing rules and ridiculous restrictions on police.

And this little turd, a teacher, just couldn’t go as far as to give this hero a motorcade as his body was transported. She is worried about her “tax dollars” being spent on this. She couldn’t even admit he was a hero. She could only say “ maybe.”

This is the kind of person who should never be allowed near kids or a keyboard for that matter. She has a right to an opinion, to be sure, but she also needs to understand the concepts of discretion and empathy, of which she has neither.

She may not realize this, but many people feel this way about teachers. They don’t think that people who only work ten months out of the year, have holidays off, work consistent hours, and have complete job security after three years etc. should get their tax dollars either. Especially when some of these teachers seem to have little or no true qualifications to teach and seem to spend more time spouting ridiculous and inappropriate opinions to their students. (As the one above probably does.) As a retired teacher, I have heard this many times.

You might be surprised, but I agree with them. Teaching is a hard job. So are many other jobs. Everyone thinks they don’t get paid enough.

But here is something I noticed. Every time one of these bozos spouts an opinion like this or makes a Tik-Tok video proclaiming that their sexuality should be shared with their students, or spews some ridiculous social awareness BS, people excuse it.

Here’s what they say. ” Well, they’ve been indoctrinated. What do you expect?”

First, let’s remember that true indoctrination is more than just something that happens to you casually. Ask people who have been imprisoned or “re-educated” for being dissidents in an oppressive country or in a cult. These people are not just given messages and television shows to watch to convince them, they are beaten, starved, isolated, and psychologically abused. And still, many of them come out able to resist the indoctrination.

I don’t doubt that a daily regimen of propagandistic messages and misinformation for 13 years of education can impact a person and steer them toward certain beliefs. I’m sure peer pressure can be a strong inducement to parrot the lies of establishment.

Add four years of living with other young people receiving the same flawed message and training at a collegiate level, and I do believe it has an effect. I know that young teachers are then given indoctrination at the system level, filling them with all the BS the school wants them to embody as teachers.

So should we excuse the turd in the message above for being an ass?

No. We shouldn’t.

First, I won’t excuse her because I think she posted that message to appear “cool” and “trendy” to her friends. I think she thought people would admire her “courage” to say such a thing, would see her as a truthful beacon in the “fog” of emotions in this situation. It didn’t even matter to her that those emotions were real and raw and affected every family of a member of law enforcement, especially his family. She just wanted to stand out in the crowd.

It had nothing to do with any “indoctrination” she received in school. And, I’ll add that it was not just a stupid mistake.

It’s an indicator of something much more despicable.

There are so many other young teachers, young people, etc. who would never have posted that. Why? Because those people had the judgement, the morals, the empathy to realize not to say any of what she said, at least not in a permanent public forum that may be seen by so many. They would see how hurtful this could be. They understand that having an opinion is one thing, hurting others with it is another.

I’ve fought the battle myself. There are times when I want to say things that just shouldn’t be put in print. During those times I try to see things from the other side and the negative effect it may have on someone who doesn’t deserve it. Sometimes it is the wrong timing, and the thought has to be saved for a later date, a different situation.

And some things should just never be said publicly at all. As I said, attacks on people who don’t deserve it because they haven’t done anything wrong are not acceptable. If it’s a politician or a public official who is abusing his/her position or being unethical, well that’s different. And if it is someone who puts something like the message above in a public forum, they need to know many find their words offensive. And I do occasionally make a mistake. When I do, I will apologize.

The problem with her and teachers (and other people) like her is that they are narcissistic. The only thing they see is their needs, their emotions, their opinions. They have very few, if any, morals, so no holds are barred. And they are the same in their classrooms. It wouldn’t matter what they had been taught in school, they would still be narcissists. I know. I saw them come and go in my thirty years of education and 67 years of life.

They deserve no excuses for their behavior. We should just call them what they are, fundamentally flawed human beings. Indoctrination may have amplified them, but the flaws in character have always been there. And social media has given them an amplifier.

I don’t know what will happen to this young lady. Should she be fired or at least punished? I really don’t want that. I do want her to see the hurt this post caused and maybe think twice next time. I respect her freedom of speech, but I would not want my child in her class. Besides, the union will protect her.

I hid her name, but I have seen it posted online already. She has closed her account which shows you that she at least knows she did something that has gotten her in trouble. But that doesn’t mean she has had a change of heart. I will venture a guess that she is justifying her disgraceful behavior to her superiors in a ton of tears and pleas that it was just a mistake, and she didn’t mean it. She may even apologize to the officer’s family, but I doubt it.

But it was more than just a mistake. And we all know it. And there’s no excuse for it. We need to see that and start calling out people like her for their disgusting behavior.

END NOTE. As the 14-year-old son of a friend of mine said, “People need to be held accountable for what they say and do.” She’s a teacher. God forbid she ever has a law enforcement officer’s child in her class.

Fake Government Outrage at Grade Changing in Baltimore City Public Schools

There is much pearl clutching this week as the results of the Inspector General’s report on rampant grade changing in Baltimore City Public Schools have been released.

If it wasn’t so detrimental to the education of the children who “graduated” from these schools, the sudden anger of the Governor and other State Officials would be laughable. Remember, the ones who create the problem are always the most “outraged” at the problem.

Here is a link to the report:

Report shows thousands of grade changes, culture in city schools (wbaltv.com)

As you can see, over 12,000 grades were changed from failing to passing. And this was in a school system where EVERY student starts out with a grade of 50% when he/she walks in the door. Ten percent of these changes were in ONE high school.

The grade changing in itself is awful, because kids graduate without having the academic skills they need to be successful in college or in a career. What is more insidious is that teachers and staff were too frightened to speak about how they had been coerced by administration to change grades. You can see the instructions that were sent to teachers regarding grades: (pictures are included in the story).

Md. governor calls for criminal investigation into grade changing at Baltimore schools | The National Desk

We’ll deal with the hypocrisy of Governor Hogan’s feigned anger in a bit. But first, check out what teachers were told in those pictures. It’s not the first time teachers have been given those directions.

Some of you who have taught before may say, “What’s the big deal. Teachers change grades all the time to allow students who worked hard to pass.” Did I mention that these students come in with a grade of 50% without sitting in class for a single day? We are not talking about students who started at zero and then worked their way up to a grade of 57%. We are talking about students who probably got points for showing up. Show up enough and you could probably get the passing grade. Show up all year and you might graduate at the top of your class. Sign your name to worksheets a couple of times and you might be Valedictorian. (That is if your school didn’t get rid of that to save the feelings of the other students.)

It is a huge deal. Especially when administrators are pressuring teachers to do it.

Now, back to Larry Hogan who is absolutely outraged by this practice. I don’t think I have seen him this angry since he told us all to “wear the damn mask.”

What a hypocrite. Ever since the ‘No Child Left Behind” debacle of the Bush Administration in 2001, state and federal governments have demanded accountability of the schools. They introduced a concept called “AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) that schools had to achieve. This concept included high attendance rates, high graduation rates, high test scores and high grades. If a school couldn’t achieve their goals, there could be a replacement of school administration and school staff as well as a reduction in government funds. What did most schools do?

They made damn sure they achieved their goals whether in reality or by deception. It was a “whatever it takes” attitude, even if that meant cheating. Even if it meant lowering standards.

(To be clear, accountability is a good thing, but you have to make sure the spirit and letter of the law are followed. )

The Obama administration then introduced race into the mix with “Race to the Top.” Same precepts except now all data was continuously monitored by race, gender, etc. Same result. I remember being told in a teacher’s meeting that teacher performance would be tied to how many students in each subgroup passed a class. If any subgroup didn’t do well, teachers would be called on the carpet. So, teachers made sure they did what they had to do by hook or by crook.

While Larry Hogan hasn’t been in office from 2001 to 2013, he was from 2014 on. And, during that time, teachers in many schools complained about pressure to change grades. Here’s an article from Prince George’s County Public Schools:

Staff members speak out about pressure from Prince George’s Co. Public Schools to graduate students | PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY PARENTS, MARYLAND BLOG (pgcpsmess.com)

In case you don’t want to read the whole article, this is the letter teachers from Prince Georges’ County sent to Larry Hogan AND Maryland Superintendent Karen Salmon in 2017 (for those of you who hate math, that’s FIVE YEARS ago.)

It wasn’t just happening in Prince Georges County. It was happening all over the state. Hogan did call for a state investigation of PGCPS:

Gov. Larry Hogan calls for state investigation into alleged corruption in PGCPS (fox5dc.com)

And this was the result:

Probe finds late grade changes for 5,500 in Prince George’s – The Washington Post

Hogan was “deeply disturbed.” But he was also busy getting ready to run for Governor again. I’m not sure what the State Superintendent thought.

But now Hogan is really, really upset. Criminal charges are in order.

I call BS.

Larry and every other State Official, State Superintendent or MSDE staffer, State and Local Board of Education member, and school administrator have known for years this is going on. They know that federal and state funding to school systems depends on academic and attendance data, as false as it may be. And they make damn sure teachers do what they tell them.

(By the way, has either Teacher’s Union spoken up to defend these teachers against this coercion? No? I guess their budget of 10 cents per dollar of income to advocate for teachers has been spent.)

You may think this is not a problem. After all, graduating from high school even though you don’t deserve it doesn’t hurt anyone, does it? Parents get to watch their kid walk, take pictures, and the kid gets a great party.

And then what? These students who don’t earn graduation also don’t learn anything. Wait, I take that back. They learn how to do nothing and still expect accomplishments.

If they go to college, most of them will quit. If they go to trade school, most of them will quit. They will NOT be equipped with the skills or desire they need to be successful at either. Nor will they be ready to have a job.

There are two things they will be prepared for, a life or crime or a life of dependence on the government to survive.

And all those millions awarded to school systems for their great graduation rates, they will be spent, and the systems will have their hands out for more. BRIDGE TO EXCELLENCE IN MARYLAND EDUCATION will supply those millions and more. The parameters for funding will be the same and schools will continue to graduate students who shouldn’t graduate.

Want to solve the problem? It’s going to take time. But the first step is to VOTE OUT the officials who have let this go on and VOTE IN people who won’t.

We Must Protect Those Who Protect Us- Guest Contributor- Sheriff Joe Gamble

And we must elect those who will commit to them also. The Maryland Primary is July 19th!

This is Deputy First Class Glenn Hilliard who was killed in the line of duty on June 13, 2022 while attempting to apprehend a fugitive who was wanted on multiple felony warrants in multiple jurisdictions. Deputy Glenn Hilliard was a son, a husband, and a father to three children, a brother to those he worked with, and an exemplary public servant to the citizens of Wicomico County and the State of Maryland. ( Courtesy Sheriff Mike Lewis).

We don’t often share the writing of others on this page, but today I think people need to read the eloquent and passionate words of Talbot County Sheriff Joe Gamble as he honors Deputy Hilliard with a tribute and a call to action for ALL of US.

From Sheriff Joe Gamble:

Many of us on the Eastern Shore don’t understand that what happens (or doesn’t happen) in Baltimore affects the safety of everyone in our state and region. Last night I stood shoulder to shoulder with over 100 law enforcement officers at the ER in Salisbury. I listened to the wife of fallen Deputy First Class Glenn Hilliard who told us, “Glenn loved his job and loved each of you” as she walked out of the hospital after seeing her slain husband.

Deputy First Class Hilliard was gunned down by a coward who was wanted on multiple arrest warrants. The most serious, an armed robbery of a McDonalds in Baltimore, where he was caught by the hard-working men and women of the Baltimore Police Department. Then the case went to the black hole of our criminal justice system. After pleading guilty, the coward was given “probation before judgement”…no time in jail! Glenn Hilliard was trying to serve a warrant on the coward for violating his probation. (Imagine that…a bad guy who didn’t do all that he was supposed to do while on probation. A bad guy who was prohibited from possession firearms but found a way to break that law anyway.) He was also out on an unsecured bond on another charge…meaning he did not have to post any money at all to be free from a separate charge. Once again, hardworking police officers and deputies did their job and once again the black hole of the criminal justice system did what it does best…little or nothing.

During the past several years your Maryland Legislature has passed The Justice Reinvestment Act, Bail Reform, Juvenile Justice Reform and now Police Reform. All of these laws make it less safe for all of us. What is needed is Prosecutor Reform and Judge Reform. Evil people need to go to jail for long periods of time. These laws are making it very difficult for our law enforcement to keep you safe. It’s constant “catch and release” across our state and it will only get worse unless you act!

This fall you will elect your prosecutors – know where they stand before you cast your vote. You will elect a governor who appoints judges – know where they stand before you make your choice this fall. You will elect mayors who appoint police chiefs – know where they stand before you cast your vote. You will elect legislators who have made some of the most nonsensical laws imaginable – know where they stand before you support them. You will elect a County Council who will appoint people to judge the police- know where they stand before you elect them. You will elect an Attorney General who has a unit specifically to investigate the police – know where they stand before you elect them.

Have courage to ask hard questions…it’s the least you can do with one of the greatest rights that this country has entrusted to you – know where they stand before you support them.

I have stood over the bodies of hundreds of murder victims including six slain police officers, deputies and troopers. Many of those officers were my friends. The others, while I might not have known them personally, I know exactly what they stood for. Most of them would be with us today if others in the criminal justice system had done their job.

May God bless Deputy First Class Glenn Hilliard, his beautiful wife and his three children.”

Sheriff Gamble says it so well, I can add very little except to say that elections are not sporting competitions. In many cases, they are life and death. This is one such case.

When we get information on how you can honor Deputy Hilliard, we will share. But one thing you can do now is ask the hard questions Sheriff Gamble poses. And vote for people who will support Law Enforcement.

Our prayers go out to Deputy Hilliard’s wife, family, co-workers, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department and all law enforcement everywhere.

A Great Reason to Vote for Dan Cox

I knew the first time I heard Dan Cox that I wanted to support his run for Governor of Maryland. Dan is a strong Constitutional lawyer who supports the rights of citizens, is against mandates, promotes parental rights, wants to lower taxes to ease the burden on the working people of Maryland, and who supports law enforcement. I had never had a candidate such as Dan that I could vote for in Maryland, which has turned into a state almost as radically left as California.

Please don’t try to tell me I had Larry Hogan. That is laughable and terribly wrong. Larry Hogan was never a strong Conservative or candidate. He won because the Democrats nominated the weakest candidate I had ever seen since Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. Hogan won because his predecessor was so unpopular, he couldn’t even register a “zero” in the Democrat Presidential poll.

And we know what Larry ended up being. Aside from lowering bridge tolls, Larry’s legacy is that he rolled over in every difficult fight with the legislature, imposed a lockdown of small businesses in the State, enacted Unconstitutional vaccine and mask mandates, and pandered to Biden and his cartel. He even went to Davos to conspire with the World Economic Forum.

To say the least, Larry was Democrat light mixed with a side order of petulant tyrant. His carbon copy, Kelly Schulz, will be just like him.

Dan came along like a breath of fresh air. He’s a staunch Constitutional Conservative. He carries an endorsement from President Trump. He also got an endorsement from Talbot County Sheriff Joe Gamble, an honorable man who doesn’t make political endorsements. He is one of the most popular Sheriffs I have even seen, so much so that no one ran against him in our county. He is a man who doesn’t give support to a politician lightly.

There are many other endorsements for Dan, too many to list here. And, unlike Kelly Schulz, he didn’t have to call every single public official in Maryland to strong arm them to endorse.

But there is even one more reason why I will vote for Dan Cox. His running mate, Gordana Schifanelli.

In the past, the Lt. Governor candidate has been somewhat of a throwaway. Selections were made based on which person would do the LEAST to hurt the main candidate. Face it, can you name the current Lt. Governor? I can, but it’s not because the gentleman has done anything or inspired anyone. He has been in office for eight years and I have NEVER heard him speak.

This is not by accident. Most Governors don’t want a Lt. Governor who does anything. They want a Lt. Governor that will stay out of their way, their limelight. Their fragile egos won’t allow anything else.

Presidential candidates do the same thing. Obama knew Joe Biden would never outshine him. Biden’s handlers knew Kamala Harris was even more clueless than he is. Even Trump’s pick, Mike Pence, was just a placeholder.

The first Governor who broke this mold was Glen Younkin in Virginia, whose pick for Lt. Governor, Winsome Sears, is as much of a political force as he is. I respect him for that.

And I respect Dan Cox for doing the same with Gordana. In a recent interview he talked about how he had seen her speak, learned her story, and knew she would be a great Lt. Governor. He saw the dynamism, the passion she has, and how she commands the room when she speaks. She is fearless.

It’s no wonder. She grew up in a Communist country and escaped as a young woman through the war-torn landscape with little more than a backpack and a change of clothes. She came to the United States with her husband, Marc, and worked to get a Law degree to add to her degrees from Yugoslavia ( PHD in Economics and Masters in Finance). She taught as an adjunct professor at the Naval Academy and single handedly engineered a write in campaign that got four Conservative candidates elected to the Queen Anne’s County School Board. All this while raising three boys!

But to appreciate Gordana, you have to hear her speak.

Gordana Schifanelli: Who Is Influencing Our Children’s Education? (rumble.com)

Hear that? That’s someone who believes what she says, has the knowledge to back it up, and can convey the message to others.

And people love her for it.

That could be disconcerting for a candidate at the top of the ticket, especially if that candidate is not secure in his own qualifications, talents, and abilities.

And that’s why I am so impressed with Dan Cox. I am sure he knows he has a superstar running with him. A lesser man would be thrown by this, would try to muzzle and hide his running mate. He would want the spotlight only on him. We have seen it time after time.

But Dan IS secure in who he is and what he has as a gubernatorial candidate. His ego is directed to the goal of improving this state, protecting the rights of its citizens, and assuring that tyranny no longer shows its ugly head as it has under the Hogan regime. He has all the knowledge of the law, the Constitution, and how the government of Maryland works. He has passion for his cause too, but he expresses it in action steps. His speaking gift is clarity and focus. And he’s not afraid of a Lt. Governor who can stand side by side with him, help him get elected and take the state back to what it should be, a state run by the people, not career politicians and special interests. He is a superstar also!

This ticket has two amazing people striving for the same goal, saving Maryland. Dan Cox will be an amazing Governor and Gordana will be an amazing second in command.

And that’s just one reason I will vote for him. He’s not flashy. His ego is not on display. But he is fearless. And we need fearless right now!

Parents’ Rights are Extremist

I had no idea.

I had no idea that speaking up to school boards, in meetings, on social media, about preserving parental rights was extremist.

Until someone told me it was.

I was talking to a political candidate about a forum our parents’ group was having. The candidate told me something shocking. He told me he had been warned about us by another candidate because we are “a right-wing extremist group.”

I laughed when he said it. I laughed because this “extremist group” of parents and community members are moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles, and just people who believe in the Constitution. In our meetings, we talk about issues surrounding the education of our children, and how education has started to turn into indoctrination.

There are no threats of violence. There is no nasty name calling. There are no violent protests planned.

But we are extremists.

If you disagree with the leftist, Marxist agenda, you are an extremist also. And it’s not only the Democrats that think that way, it’s the Republicans. In fact, they are worse. Remember that politician who was told about our parents’ group? He was told by another Republican not to be associated with us and show up at our forum to speak. Obviously it was a Republican who goes along with the middle of the road, stand up for nothing philosophy. You know, a so-called moderate.

I have several suspects in this scenario. There are a couple of Republican officials who have not appreciated our demand for accountability and action. They worry more about fooling the voter into electing them than they do about actually representing the people. So they label us “extremists.”

We aren’t the only ones.

If you don’t want children taught sexual acts and preferences in school; you are an extremist.

If you don’t want to divide children into “oppressors” and “victims” by skin color in school; you are an extremist.

If you think discipline and accountability is important for ALL officials and citizens; you are an extremist.

If you believe in a parent’s right to control what happens to their minor child; you are an extremist.

Think there are only two genders? Yup. Extremist.

Want government officials to be accountable to citizens? To cut needless spending? To stop allowing teachers’ unions to control education? To stop unconstitutional mandates? Extremist, extremist, extremist, extremist.

And we can’t even mention the election fraud of the 2020 election, the total incompetency of the current White House and Congress, or the First and Second Amendment. If we do, we are extremists.

Don’t believe in funding Ukraine with BILLIONS of dollars while people here in our country are suffering from the devastating effects of inflation? Extremist.

Support the military, police, or first responders? Extremist.

Worst of all, if you quote the Bible or say the name of Jesus, you are an extremist.

Add the fact that you believe that the 2nd Amendment is vital for us to protect our Constitutional rights as citizens, well then you are a “violent” extremist, even though you have never and will never commit a crime with a gun you legally own.

We are in good company. Any person who ever fought for freedom would be considered an extremist by the tyrants in their country. In 1776, they fought King George. In World War II they fought Hitler. In 1989, they fought at Tiananmen Square in China.

They are still fighting in China as the CCP locks citizens in apartments and conducts ethnic cleansing on Uyghurs.

There are many other countries with people fighting to be free. Venezuela, Afghanistan, North Korea, Somalia, South Sudan, and many others.

Would any of the Democrat Marxists in our country call the people fighting for freedom in these countries “extremists?”

The word “extremist” and the phrase “right wing” are now being used as a bludgeon in our country to suppress “unwoke” opinions.

In her book, Actively Unwoke, The Ultimate Guide for Fighting Back Against the Woke Insanity in Your Life, author Karlyn Borysenko states: ” The most important thing you need to understand about the woke in this country is that, for their leaders, everything is about power. EVERYTHING. And the easiest way to gain power over another human being is to scare them into silence.”

So, they use many tactics. One way is to call anyone that disagrees with them a politically charged name; racist, white supremacist, whatever-a-phobe, Nazi, and any other nasty designation. This is their strongest tactic because even the most mentally deficient among them can shout the nasty name du jour any time they want to shut down opposition. And these same mental midgets employ these names on social media in the same way, especially if you present them with facts. ( side note, they will do this with terrible spelling and non-existent grammar.)

They think the labels will shut you down. They hope they will shut you up. They use the labels with individuals, organized groups (like our education group) and many other Conservative activist groups to stop them, belittle them, delegitimize them.

It’s working with some. I was told the other day that several national groups fighting for parental rights were considered “too radical” in their cause, even though those groups have done nothing more than promote teaching without indoctrination. Even though they merely want Boards to listen to their concerns and have appeared in front of Boards to speak. Remember, the National Association of School Boards got Merit Garland, the U.S. Attorney General, to focus the FBI on parents who speak at Board of Education meetings. This while ignoring truly violent groups like Antifa and BLM. This scares some people away. No one wants a nasty label.

A label only works if you let it, if you believe it, if you internalize it. As Borysenko says, ” In order to become actively unwoke, you must get over any fear you have of being called a *racist, knowing that the accusation itself says more about the person making it than if does about you. No matter what anyone says or what they try to convince you of, you have to believe with every fiber of your being that what they are saying is absolute bunk. Do not let them trick you! Stand your ground. Know you’re doing the right thing.” *you can insert any label here.

I agree with her almost completely. My only split with her is that I think sometimes you need to take the label and redefine it based on others who have fought these fights before. Realize that your beliefs, the ones they don’t want you to express, are what they despise so much that they want them silenced. And that’s why they call you an extremist.

Marjorie Taylor Greene says it another way:

Yeah, they call her extremist too.

Pretty good company if you ask me.

A Locked Door Left Open…

In the aftermath of the tragic shooting in Uvalde, Texas, there are so many questions. Why was this monster allowed to walk outside the school and shoot for 14 minutes? Why didn’t police go in and take him down? Why did they wait for Border Patrol, who came on their own volition? It’s hard to find answers, and quite frankly, the truth.

I know that many questioned the fact that a locked door of the school was left open allowing the shooter to enter. Many have said it was intentional so the shooting could happen. I really don’t think that is why the door was left open. Anyone who has taught and has had locked outside doors in their school knows that this measure sounds great, but in some locations can be inconvenient and even troubling for some teachers. Most schools don’t give all the staff keys to these doors. I don’t know why, but I think it might be that they are afraid the keys will be stolen or lost. So, a teacher who takes her class outside may not be able to get them back inside that locked door. They leave it ajar.

Or, for the sake of ease, they leave it open as they go to their cars to get something they left there. We’ve all done it, so let’s not judge these people. They had no idea that a mass murder was going to happen at their school.

The locked door proved to be fatal. But it is just one event in a tragedy that started over 13 years ago. It started when that killer started school. Something about this kid was not right, and people knew it a long time ago. There were signs. His friends knew. His teachers knew. His family knew. They knew something was off with him. I’ll bet they ignored it.

Why didn’t anyone do anything? It’s said he tortured animals, bullied others, was cutting himself, was posting about killing his grandmother online. Yes, they were private messages, but someone had to be the recipient. There were plenty of signs.

But we’ve gotten used to ignoring signs. I had a friend who was murdered in the late 90’s by his stepson. The whole family was murdered. He didn’t use a gun. He used a hammer. The young man had been abused by this real father, tortured animals, and wrote about violence. I remember my friend telling me they were taking his stepson to counseling. A few days later, my friend was dead. No one wanted to admit that this kid was dangerous and needed something more than tolerance.

That was in the late 90’s. Now, we can add a couple more factors to similar situations. We can add the administrative indifference of the public schools when violence occurs or when a kid acts violently.

All over the country, public schools are letting children “act out their anger” with violence in the classrooms. Principals and Guidance Counselors on the scene no longer restrain children when they start throwing chairs, hitting others, etc. They have been told not to intervene.

Teachers I know have told me how time after time, children as young as second grade have to be evacuated from their classrooms while one child has a violent episode and teachers, and counselors leave him/her free to do so. Sometimes they can’t even get the other kids out of the way of these violent tirades, putting the innocent kids in danger.

But it’s all in the name of “restorative discipline.”

Don’t be fooled. This approach does nothing to restore anyone and it isn’t discipline. It’s the adults in the rooms accepting and allowing children to act out their bad behavior with impunity.

Restorative discipline is described as the alternative to punitive discipline. Punitive discipline is when someone does something wrong and suffers consequences. You know, what most of us had growing up.

Here is a definition of “restorative discipline” from the Oakland, California Public Schools guide:

See that word salad above? That is what we call a non-descript definition. Whoever wrote this did so with as much passion and high-minded delusion as a 70’s Coca-Cola Commercial. (If you are too young for that reference, look it up.) This definition has every buzzword, every scrap of politically correct lingo and NOT ONE ACTUAL fact or step for implementation. (Strange but somehow, I hear Kamala Harris’s reading this definition as a speech while wildly waving her arms, nodding and cackling.)

But it’s okay, it’s inspired by the practices of “indigenous peoples.” Sure. I’ll bet those indigenous peoples let members of their tribes act out violently against others all the time, patted them on their heads and told them it was okay.

This is what is being done in our public schools. And our children are paying the price over and over again.

In his book, WHY MEADOW DIED, Andrew Pollack shares how the PROMISE discipline initiative created by the Obama Department of Education allowed the gunman who killed 12 students in Parkland, Florida to slip through the cracks and become a school shooter.

The program was created to “keep students out of the school to jail pipeline” but it was ineffective, particularly in the case of the MSD massacre. Critics described it as a way to give “troublemakers an undeserved break for criminal behavior.” It is a diversion program to keep kids from going to jail, but Ryan Petty, whose child was killed at Stoneman Douglas, called it a “pre-diversion of a diversion program.”

I think this is a good description of where schools are now. Instead of holding students responsible for their actions, instead of giving them real counseling, schools are “allowing them to act out their anger.” It’s not called the “Promise Program” but it has the same origin and justification, the Department of Education that claims this provides “equity.” They are diverting punishment and allowing kids to become experts in violence.

As for counseling, it is almost non-existent, unless you call giving kids free pizza and turning one’s head the other way when they respond with violence.

As with most other programs the U.S. Department of Education pushes, schools make out monetarily on the deal and are punished if they don’t comply. They bow at the altar of fake equity and pretend to help minority students. Therefore, they underreport discipline, skewing numbers to make the programs look successful. This is the problem that let Nikolas Cruz become a school shooter. Schools’ culture of tolerance lets students like Nikolas Cruz slide – Sun Sentinel (sun-sentinel.com)

Year after year, as a student goes through this system, he/she becomes bolder and more entrenched in his/her violent behavior. By the time a kid gets to be 18, he’s bullying others and cutting himself, shooting his grandmother and killing 19 children and 2 teachers. We end up with an out-of-control adult who commits horrible acts of violence.

I’m not saying that the PROMISE program was specifically in place in Texas, but I am saying that the same theories that it included ARE! And those theories are in force in many schools across the country. In their incessant need to gain acceptance from “woke” organizations and the bureaucracy of the Marxists in the Federal and State Education Departments, schools pretend they are doing the right thing for kids when they are actually putting them in danger.

Add the absolute refusal to protect our schools and our students with increased security measures and we have a disaster. Witness all the liberal school districts in the country who removed school resource officers/police from their schools only to see a huge increase in school violence. Many are now begging them to come back.

Montgomery County Public Schools bringing officers back | wusa9.com

Of course, California seems to be ramping up the insanity:

There are solutions. Unfortunately, the political class won’t like these solutions because they are not easy. They take time and money.

Of course, liberals want to blame gun owning, law abiding citizens for the violence. They want to abolish the Second Amendment. This won’t solve the problem. Remember, the Second Amendment has been in place in this country for almost 250 years and mass shootings outside of war were not a regular occurrence. When I was teaching in the 70’s and 80’s, kids drove their trucks to school with rifles on their gun racks and this kind of violence was non-existent.

It’s not about the guns, it’s about mental health. But providing treatment is expensive.

If we can send billions to Ukraine, we can find the money to provide students with real mental health care as needed. This can’t be done unilaterally. Parents need to be included in those decisions, since parents are often the first to see problems and be victims of the violence older children may perpetrate. Violent children of any age must be removed from classrooms.

In Nikolas Cruz’s case in Florida, the third- or fourth-time police were called to his home for domestic violence should have been the signal that something needed to be done to put him into mental health care.

Teachers and administrators need to be empowered to enforce rules and to call police when needed. They need to be listened to when it comes to what they see and what needs to be done. Trained School Resource Officers should be put in place to guard our most precious children.

And there MUST be real discipline to go along with all of this.

Of course, school buildings need to be reinforced and retrofitted with security measures to prevent the kind of “open door” event that invited a murderer into the school that day in Texas.

Nothing can completely ensure that violence in schools won’t happen. But we need to give our children the best we have to prevent it.

We need to close the door and keep it locked.

The Evil Act of Exploiting the Death of Children for Political Gain

It seems to me that Marxists are deliriously happy every time an act of mass violence occurs. You can start your stopwatch and time them as they trip all over each other to get to a microphone as soon as the news spreads about a tragedy. They must politicize the event. It happens every single time.

The big payoff for them depends on certain factors; the race of the perpetrators, the race of the victims, the politics of the attacker, and the weapons used. If the attacker is white and uses a gun and the victims are black, the Marxists hit the jackpot. Even more so if the perpetrator posted on social media while holding a gun in front of a Confederate flag, even if he states no racist ideas. If he says anything that can be construed as racist, that’s what they call the trifecta.

If the murderer is Black or Hispanic, then the win for Marxists can only happen if he used a gun. Then they can glean the anti-gun diatribe from the incident.

Don’t believe me? Let’s consider this. When a White gunman shot Black people in a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, the Marxists took full advantage of the situation, sending the Nursing Home Patient Biden up there to talk about guns, domestic terrorism, and White Supremacists. While victims’ families mourned, the Marxists had a collective orgasm over their good fortune to witness such a windfall.

However, when a Black man ran his SUV through a parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin last Fall, killing many White people, Biden was unable and unwilling to make the trip. Wrong demographic, wrong weapon, wrong narrative. Marxists turned their backs on the victims.

The mass shooting on a NY subway train by a Black man who spouted anti-White racists rants on Facebook, was a puzzle for the Marxists. How could they get their anti-gun, anti-White mantras to the public? It just didn’t work.

So, they made sure they didn’t draw attention to the incident. It was gone off the headlines in a few days.

The latest tragedy in Texas with the killing of innocent school children is just another example of the Marxist philosophy of never letting a good crisis go to waste. Examples? Just go on the cesspool that is Twitter and look at all the Marxist bots (or possibly real people, which is more disturbing) spewing their hatred and blaming every Republican, gun owner, or anyone else who supports the Constitution, for the murders. Here’s an example:

This was one of the milder ones.

Check out the actions of Beto O’Rourke, Texas candidate for Governor, who crashed a news conference with the current Governor Abbott. Tucker Carlson takes him to task:

WATCH: Tucker Carlson SLAMS Beto O’Rourke for disrupting press conference on Texas school shooting | The Post Millennial

You have to love the mayor in this video who calls Beto a “sick son of a bitch.”

And of course, the current resident of the White House couldn’t just express his grief and support to parents in a seven-minute statement, he had to spend most of that time lying about Constitutional rights and telling us how he would use this incident to destroy them.

Sadly, the left weren’t the only ones to jump on the crisis. In the last day I have read so many theories about the shooter, where he got his guns, and why police seem to wait so long to go into the school. Rather than let the dust settle and the tears of the victims’ families dry, the theory mongers were out there spreading their ideas about why this happened.

Until the event is processed, investigated, etc. we won’t know all the details. And we must let that happen before we jump in with wild suppositions.

One thing we know is that a sick, and I say evil, person entered a school filled with innocent children and teachers and murdered 21 of them. Why? We may never know.

What I do know is that the fear mongers and political ghouls on both sides need to stop stepping over their graves for political gain. When that ends, maybe we can find real solutions to this kind of evil.

Two Questions I want Every Candidate to Answer

Considering where we are in our country, the division that exists, it’s more important now than ever before to carefully question our candidates to see who they are and what they believe in.

Most of the time, candidate forums and debates are centered around specific questions about policies. There’s nothing wrong with that, but the answers to these questions can be carefully crafted to say exactly what the candidate thinks the people want to hear. That’s why many carry note cards and talking points. There’s nothing wrong with that and being prepared, but it doesn’t allow the voter to get to know the candidate.

And that’s why I have TWO questions for EVERY candidate, Republican or Democrat, incumbent or challenger, young or old.

Question One: Will you protect children? How? (I know it is technically two, but bear with me.)

Question Two: Will you defend the Constitutional Rights of every citizen? How?

That’s it. The first part of each question is an easy yes or no answer. They either will or they won’t. There’s no halfway here.

The second part of the question is harder. This is the part of the question that will reveal the honesty and nature of the candidate. The answer to this question is one that could possibly be read off a note card or recited from memory.

The voter asking the question has to pay attention. We need to “read” the candidate. Does he/she really believe what he/she is saying or is it just a rehearsed response? Does he/she have real passion for their ideas? Or is he/he appeasing us or worse, lying.

To me, that is extremely important. I’ve watched so many politicians on both sides say one carefully crafted thing to get elected and then do things that completely go against their stated opinions. The skilled politician can do this with ease, but it is extremely important to see through the facade. Never take your eyes off them!

This can be difficult. So often we see what we want to see and hear what we want to hear. Think of that salesman that sold you something you didn’t really want but bought anyway.

Think of all those weight loss programs. People want to lose weight so badly, they will believe in that the magic potion, pill or diet that will help them do it with zero effort.

We are just as desperate in our country right now. We want the division to end. We want our children to be educated, happy, safe and learning. We want families to be able to support themselves without government help. And we want the Constitutional rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness supported and followed. So, we might be willing to believe in the Magic Candidate who will do that while requiring very little of us.

That person does not exist.

But candidates DO EXIST who believe in protecting children and our rights. They have ideas, ideas they have built on their values throughout their lives. We need to hear what they have to say.

It doesn’t mean their answers will please us or align with our ideas. It doesn’t mean that we will vote for them. In fact, I’m sure that we won’t vote for some of them. The mismatch will be too severe.

And that’s okay. Thats how Representative Republics are supposed to work.

In the end, when I walk into that voting booth, I need to know that I am voting for a person who I feel will do the best job, will follow his/her principles, will respect the rights of the people, will solve problems, and will be honest. It’s the only way we get out of this mess.

Two simple questions, but so very important.

Schulz Campaign Tactics: Taken from the Hillary and Biden Playbook

The establishment Republicans are not going to like this post very much. In fact, it is going to upset them right down to the soles of their lime green shoes. Better get the bar set up!

You see some of them love, no they adore, Kelly Schulz. If you don’t know who she is, she has been the Maryland Secretary of Commerce under Governor Larry Hogan. She was there when he locked down “non-essential” small businesses while leaving big corporate businesses open. He did it with lightning speed, without one speck of regret. And Kelly was right there with him. Both he and she collected their rather hefty salaries while the locked down business owners and their employees went broke.

You would think she might have spoken up. You would think she might have gotten out there and comforted the people whose lives were just ruined by her boss. Nope. At one point, she mimicked her boss telling people to “wear the damn mask.” You know, the one that doesn’t do anything to prevent disease?

It’s bad enough that Kelly let her tyrannical boss run roughshod over our Constitutional Rights, but she seems not to know what they are. At least she has no idea about people being innocent until proven guilty and their right to an effective and vigorous legal defense via legal counsel (that’s a lawyer.) It’s the Sixth Amendment Ms. Schulz. You should be well versed on it and other Constitutional rights if you want to be Governor.

One thing Ms. Schulz IS well versed on is the campaign tactics and strategies of two famous folks; Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden.

Hillary Clinton and the Clinton machine are well known for their “politics of personal destruction.” This phrase was specifically coined for the Clintons as they waged mean spirited, false attacks against opponents. Anyone reading the info on Durham’s prosecution over the Russia hoax? Guess who has her hands all over that. First guess doesn’t count.

Kelly has learned this lesson well. She, with the assistance of some guy who goes bowling with small balls, has launched an attack on Dan Cox regarding his representation of a defendant accused of having sex with an underaged girl. It’s bad enough that they use the fact that Cox was doing his job as a lawyer and protecting the Constitutional Rights of a defendant as a negative against him, but they also lie and say that the eventual sentence the man (who did an Alford plea) received was Dan’s fault. Last time I checked, judges set sentences, not lawyers. Yet, that lie is right out there in the open in the dirty commercial which I saw last night during the Tucker Carlson show on FOX.

And again, every defendant has a Constitutional right to a vigorous defense by a lawyer. Some say that he didn’t have to represent the man. Some say the nature of the crime should have chased Dan away. But, see, that’s not how it is supposed to work. Innocent until proven guilty, remember? If the accusations against the defendant determines if they get a lawyer or not, we are in trouble. But I guess Kelly, having seen her boss violate the Constitution with his lockdowns, thinks the entire document should be suspended.

The commercial is horrible, and I think it will damage Kelly more than Dan Cox. Remember, Hillary’s negative campaigning led her to a resounding defeat. Like Kelly, she was desperate to defeat the surging Donald Trump and rolled around in the mud to do it.

As Forrest Gump would say about Hillary and Kelly, “Like peas and carrots.”

(Okay, I’ll admit Kelly is way more attractive. That’s not a high bar.)

Kelly has also used another famous politician, Joe Biden, as a role model for her campaigning. While most candidates have made a point of going to almost every debate, appearing at as many public events as possible, Ms. Schulz seems to prefer the Joe Biden ” Stay in your basement” strategy. It’s so bad that many of us thought of sending out a missing person’s alert. Where has Kelly been?

The screen shot below may explain her absences:

Did you read that? The woman who worked for someone who hated Donald Trump because he was “mean” isn’t civil enough to share a stage with someone she disagrees with? Or is she afraid of actually doing a debate with Dan Cox? We already know she snuck out of a Dorchester County Republican event earlier this year because she couldn’t handle the questions asked of her by Cox’s running mate, Gordana Schifanelli.

She says she wasn’t invited to all the debates. I call BS. No one hosting a candidate’s debate would leave one of the top Republican candidates off the invitation list. Please, Kelly, try harder.

Could it be that, like Biden, she just isn’t up for the task and her handlers know this and want to keep her out of site? It’s not just debates that she won’t attend in person, she wouldn’t even speak live or virtually at a Republican Women’s event in Harford County. She sent a VIDEO statement. Wow. Does she also have a green screen and CGI like Joe?

People left the room during that video. They felt disrespected.

Maybe she doesn’t need their votes. Maybe she has something else in common with Joe, a large voter fraud organization. I’m just speculating.

I wonder where she was and why she couldn’t make it to this event. Was she watching video of her boss learning how to steal more of our Constitutional freedoms in Davos at the World Economic Forum meeting? Was she manning the phones begging for every single politician in the state to endorse her? (Seems somewhat desperate to me).

Is her team hiding her hoping that by the time she comes into public she may actually have ideas to share with the voters of the state?

Maybe they see the handwriting on the wall and decided to take her bowling instead. You know, with the little balls.

Can the Government Schools Be Fixed?

People are starting to ask me this question more frequently..

The answer is No. And Yes.

I know this is an unsatisfactory and ambivalent answer. But it’s the truth.

Let me explain. I’ll start with “No” first. Like our country, the deterioration of our schools didn’t just happen. It’s been happening for at least 40 years. I know, because I saw it during my thirty years of teaching. I probably even participated in it without knowing.

Anything that takes that long to happen cannot be undone in an instant. It will take a long time to fix. If you currently have children or grandchildren in the school system, it’s probably too late to change it for them. We may be able to make it better, but it will take a long time to fix.

I’m sorry to give you that bad news. But the Marxist nonsense that is embedded and SYSTEMIC in our schools will not be undone quickly.

So, what can you do?

The biggest thing you can do is to get your children out of the government schools immediately. Yes that means your local school, the one you think is so great. Believe me, it’s not as wonderful as you think.

How will you get your children educated? As I see it, you have two choices. Private school or homeschooling.

Private schools may seem to be the best option for working parents. Yes, the tuitions are a burden, but many will gladly pay to assure that their child is educated, not indoctrinated.

Be careful. Private schools, even religiously based, are not always better than the government schools.

Here are some examples. There are two private schools in our area. One goes up to grade 8, the other is high school level. Both have always had stellar academic reputations. Lately, both have begun to implement the same CRT, SEL and indoctrination present in the government schools.

The upper-level school which charges $27,850, suddenly started demanding staff list their “pronoun choices” on their info. The Headmaster proudly lists all his options and has hired an openly transgender staff member. The latter wouldn’t be concerning if the school had not made a big deal over this. And when you hear that parents have been cautioned not to publicly complain about school policies or their children would be expelled you know they have a problem with parents defending the rights of their children.

Is it worth almost $30,000 a year for that? You would think parents would have some input into what goes on at the school, but I guess even that kind of tuition doesn’t buy you a seat at that table.

The elementary private school comes in at $17,000 a year and made a huge point of rewarding children for taking the Covid vaccine; recognizing students who did at an assembly by handing out gift cards. Social engineering, once the domain of the government schools, was deftly inserted into their mission.

One would hope that religiously focused private schools would be much better, but you have to understand that they are subject to the lure of government grants that can shape their curriculum as well. There have been numerous complaints from parents over actions taken during Covid.

And don’t forget that the National Association af Independent School has started promoting the “woke” agenda.

Bottom line is to investigate those private schools extensively and ask the hard questions.

Private schools could be an option, but not if they adopt the same beliefs as the government schools.

So, where can you go?

Homeschooling is an option that many parents won’t look at because they don’t know if or how they can do it. Instead of me telling you how you can, here’s this post written by Brandy Frampton, a homeschooling mom, earlier this year.

Is Home Schooling Too Hard for Parents? – Radio Free Oxford

Brandy says it all. Home schooling IS a viable, and possibly the only, option.

But. don’t think your worries will end there. There is a move among the Marxists to outlaw homeschooling.

So, now, let’s go to the answer “Yes” about saving the government schools.

Remember, this will be a long term project.

Here’s what needs to happen:

  1. Local control: Get rid of the US Department of Education and limit State centralized control. The Federal and State Governments need to get out of the education business. Since the Feds and State have been influencing locals, costs per student have risen. Per pupil costs have increased from $2200 in 1980 to $14,000 in 2019. Why? Federal and State mandates have required more staffing and social programs among other things. • U.S. public schools: average expenditure per pupil 1980-2019 | Statista Meanwhile, test scores have remained flat or have declined in math, science and reading since 1980. Spending more, getting less. Experts will tell you, the closer control of the schools is to the community, the more public involvement and quick improvement.
  2. Get the Teachers’ Unions out of politics and school policy. The NEA and AFT have approximately half a billion in assets combined. NEA spends 170 million on political activities and lobbying and 120 million on other contributions, gifts and grants which can be and often are political such as political action committees, progressive organizations, and “ballot initiatives.” Only 9 cents per dollar is actually spent on helping teachers. Is it any wonder they control what goes on in schools more than Boards of Education, Administrations, and parents? Politicians will say and do anything to garner favor with what the Wall Street Journal called a huge “honey pot.” Even the CDC bowed to the unions on masks and kept mandates although they were harmful and ineffective. ( Link to article and other links: Part Two: The Lies They Tell You About Education in the U.S.- Unions Care About Teachers and Students – Radio Free Oxford ) No public employee union should have that much influence, especially when they don’t fulfill their main responsibilities.
  3. Allow Per Pupil Costs to Follow the Child: For example, on average, government schools in Maryland are given $15,000 per pupil. Since this is taxpayer money, allow parents to take that amount and put it to the education of their own children whether it is to a public, private or homeschooling option. This could be in the form of a tax reduction locally and for the State.
  4. Allow School Choice: In most districts, parents cannot choose which public school their child attends. This means that many parents are locked into underperforming and dangerous schools. Many parents resort to lying about where they live in order to get their child in a better school. If they were allowed school choice, they would have a chance to put their children in better environments. Schools would be motivated to improve to attract parents.
  5. Publish school curriculum and teacher lessons plans online so parents can access them easily. This is a no brainer. Teachers will complain that this creates more work for them, but honestly, posting lessons would take less time than making a Facebook or Instagram post, and teachers don’t complain about that.
  6. Put cameras in the classroom. Yes, I know this strikes fear into the hearts of teachers, but many countries already do this ( South Korea). They do it as much to protect the teachers as the children. If there are legal privacy issues with this, then deal with them in the same way that Zoom classes were handled.
  7. Take all “pet project” programs out of the schools and insist that 99% of classroom time is spent on academics and not social programs. I’m not advocating getting rid of extracurricular activities, but educational mandates such as “social emotional learning,” and other programs that indoctrinate have no reason to supplant academic lessons. Taking academic time to fill out multi-page intrusive surveys or to talk about the teacher’s gender choices are a non-productive ( and dangerous) use of time.
  8. Reinstitute strong discipline and rules across the board. When schools have different rules for different groups of kids, chaos ensues. Discipline needs to be consistent regardless of race, economic status, etc. Students who are chronic violent offenders in school need to be removed from the regular school environment for alternative schools. The current practice of allowing psychologists to roam the halls of our public schools and admonish teachers to let a child “work out his anger” while throwing a temper tantrum needs to stop.
  9. Get rid of teacher tenure. Teachers will hate this, but honestly, tenure mostly protects bad teachers. And, when a district wants to remove a tenured teacher for just cause, it can cost up to 1 million dollars. No other job in the world protects a person from being let go. Instead of tenure, why not take all that money that unions won’t be spending on politics and union staff salaries and put it toward legal consortiums that can be on retainer for local teachers. Perhaps counties can institute appeal boards for when teachers are in danger of being fired. No one should be guaranteed their job just because they have been there for more than three or four years.
  10. Redesign teacher training: Currently teacher training is a train wreck. Even after four years of college and some student teaching, teachers are coming out of school ill prepared for teaching. Many have never worked with kids and many more don’t know their content area much less how to teach it. It would be better for prospective teachers to major in their content area for two to three years and then work as a teacher apprentice for two years. Some states already do this but more with non-traditional teacher candidates. And please, remove all the CRT, SEL, and culturally relevant indoctrination. Teach that all students are unique learners .
  11. Pull the schools back to their original job description. Schools have tried to become “one stop shopping” for too many services and goals. Schools are not hospitals, mental health facilities, entertainment venues, surrogate parents or babysitters. They are institutions that should educate. Period.
  12. Reduce the number of standardized tests students take each year. These tests have become the goal of schools (teaching to the test). While they may yield a general snapshot of how schools are doing, they take an inordinate amount of time away from real learning. And who is making money off the tests? Test publishers.
  13. Stop encouraging all students to take AP Classes, College Prep Classes, etc. Not all students belong in college. Many do better if they go to a trade school or into an apprenticeship after high school. Why not help those kids discover their true abilities and vocations instead of insisting on putting round pegs into square holes.

There are many more steps, but these are the few I would start with!

As a parent/grandparent/community member:

  1. Know your legal rights and the legal rights of your child. Be ready to defend the rights of all children. Know the law.
  2. Go to every Board of Education and school-based meeting that you can go to. Make sure you know the agendas of meetings. Become well versed in educational jargon and phrases they use to hide CRT, indoctrination, etc. Know the people in charge and make sure they know you. ASK QUESTIONS.
  3. Understand how government schools are funded in your state.
  4. Hold elected officials accountable and VOTE VOTE VOTE. Make sure you vette candidates carefully regarding how they will protect student and parent rights. Support candidates who are committed to those rights!
  5. When speaking at Board of Education meetings, be prepared, polite, and appropriately passionate. Never threaten anyone with physical violence or harass them.
  6. Join other parents/community members locally and nationally. Become an advocacy group for students. Have regular meetings. There is strength in numbers!
  7. Be strong and tough, but never let your children suffer harassment because of your activities in the system. If they are, take action immediately and put people on notice that you will not tolerate it.
  8. Don’t be patient but understand how long it will take for change to occur. This is a fight that will last long past the time that your children or grandchildren will be in school.

The one thing Marxists are good at is playing the “long game.” We may have to play the same long game to get our schools back where they should be.

The link below will give you some more ideas. I have also included a pdf of a guide for parents.
