Does anyone else feel like they have entered an entirely new universe and reality? One where right is wrong, good is bad, cheating is acceptable, and turning on your neighbors is heroic. One where speaking out for freedom is considered selfish, but speaking out to restrict freedom is lauded.

It’s a world where our Government officials officially turn a blind eye to election fraud, human trafficking, lying, stealing, and even murder. At the same time, police are demonized. Our courts, those who are supposed to protect our rights, seem intent on establishing their own rules.

With each passing day, the regular American citizen feels like he/she is more powerless and isn’t even being considered at all in decision making.

But it’s not all Americans. The rich elite, the ruling class, are fine. They have the protections of wealth and connections. They can hide in their rich homes, secluded from the real world.

And the poor are protected also. They live under the blanket protection of victimhood. Every benefit is given to them that they need as legislatures vote to give them more and more “free stuff” every day. Yes, I know there are those in dire need. Most of them are homeless vets and the mentally ill who are out on the streets. But, they are an afterthought as politicians court the entitled class.

And then there is the middle class. This is where the “rubber meets the road.” The middle class, those who work for everything they have, who don’t get free health care, food, phones, etc. are the ones who are never considered in this whole mess. We are told to keep working, paying our bills, and paying our taxes, but then they shut down our businesses and take away our jobs without a blink of an eye.

They promise us financial help from special programs, but then that is given to rich corporations and the businesses of the relatives of politicians, leaving us to figure out how we will survive. And when we protest, the Governors stand up in front of crowds and tell us to sit down, shut up, and wear the damn mask.

One would think that since the middle class is the biggest group of citizens in the U. S. that they would want us to be able to live and support ourselves with our jobs and small businesses. You would think they would want us to keep this economy going. But they don’t…

Why?

Because it’s not about the economy, stupid. It’s about control. Government officials know they walk hand in hand with the rich. They are their buddies, their benefactors, their campaign donations. It’s the old ” you scratch our back and we will scratch yours” syndrome. So, control is not the issue.

And the poor are in their control already. Since those on welfare and public assistance depend on the government for everything, politicians can control them with promises of more free stuff or threats of cutting off the freebie train.

But the middle class still maintains a shred of independence. They work and earn their own way. They know their rights. They are more liable to want to control their own lives rather than allowing government to do it. And that is a problem.

Every tyrannical government has one first step that must be completed before they gain complete power. And that is the elimination of the middle class by making them dependent on government.

You might think I am crazy, but consider this. During the whole Covid debacle, big corporations, big stores are left open while small businesses are shut down. Government workers and officials keep their pay while middle class workers are kept home without a paycheck.

The middle class gets squeezed onto unemployment and government health care and with the thought that they will eventually owe their living to their benevolent dictators. Remember, Obama told millions of hard working people, “ you didn’t build that.” His message was clear,‘it’s not yours, you achieved nothing, and we own you.”

I think they have forgotten one thing. The middle class citizens are not their serfs. And, without us being willing to work and produce, they have nothing. I also hope they remember that there are millions of us who fought hard for what we have, and we won’t relinquish it easily.

And I hope that we remember it also. Because now is the time when a clear message needs to be sent. And that message is, “ We will fight for what we and our forefathers have built. You can’t stop us. But we can stop you.”

As I heard the other day, “ Giants will fall.”

I am writing to you because you seem so intent on re-imaging yourselves. It’s almost miraculous. In the span of a little over a month, you have decided to change who you are or at least our perception of you.

See, you operate off the old maxim, ” Perception is reality.” It’s a cute saying, really, because it relieves you and all other liars from dealing with the truth. After all, the truth is so very “inconvenient.” ( Wasn’t there a one time famous Democrat who liked to use that word?)

In order to present a reality based on perception, you have started using words and phrases like, ” unity, hope, hopeful, peace, moving forward, bipartisan, “and on an on and on.

It’s not working, for so many reasons.

One of the first reasons is that you have spent the last five years insulting and deriding over half of this country, the ones who supported Trump. You have called us heinous names such as ” racists, xenophobes, liars, thieves, grandma killers, homophobes, and misogynists. ” You have enlisted your allies in the mainstream media, Hollywood, and even the sports world to repeat those names. Over and over and over. You have committed stereotyping of the worst kind. You have threatened us with violence and destruction of our lives and reputations. Why, your poster girl, AOC wants to make a list of us for punishment. One Michigan legislator has openly threatened us online.

You have also threatened our President. Comedians holding up a severed head that is supposed to be his. Actors calling for his arrest and imprisonment. It just went on and on and on. You disregarded anything good he did and made up bogus allegations against him. YOUR representatives tried to have him impeached for false charges.

But now, that is all in the past and we are supposed to believe you have changed. You are like the wife beater who swears he has changed while holding a gun on his wife. You tell us you didn’t mean it, you were just angry, we drove you to it, etc. Right now you think you are in the driver’s seat and you are presenting this really cool ” co-exist” facade.

Bull shit. You see, we know you. And, you still haven’t gotten your reform message out to people who like Debra Messing, who Tweeted out that she wants Trump imprisoned and a victim of gay rape over and over. Not very peaceful, if you ask me. ( what happened to that whole #metoo thing?)

For those of you in Talbot County, no matter how many conciliatory signs and logos you put up, we know you. You are still the petty little jerks you were for the past four years. Except now, we know that you are willing to commit and support election fraud to get what you want. You want to hide it all away. Add that to the list of truths you like to ignore. We aren’t buying your sudden conversion.

We still have hope that this travesty of an election will be overturned and honesty will prevail. But, if it doesn’t, don’t expect that we will cooperate with you and YOUR President. We will fight against him and you, every single day.

Oh, and a side note to McConnell, Romney, Flake, Sasse, Hogan and the rest of you cowardly unprincipled Republicans, we see you too. And we will work to get you out as soon as we can.

Disclaimer: I am still in the fight for Trump and not willing to give up that this illegal election will be overturned. But, it is always good to have a plan B. And my plan B is 1,460 days of rebellion and disobedience.

If you do the math, you will figure out what this number is.

You are probably wondering what one 65 year old woman who lives in a small town can possibly do to rebel and be disobedient to the illegal term of an administration.

First, let me share a quote from an unlikely source, Marilyn Manson.

“Anybody intelligent enough to realize what America is, is not going to sit around and do nothing about this. “

I’m not sure what he was referencing in his quote or what his motives were, but it’s a clear description of what I think.

But, again, what can I do? I’m only one person who isn’t famous, rich, or powerful. If you think about it though, isn’t that how all change begins, with one person? Think about John the Baptist as he roamed as a “voice in the wilderness.” His ministry was the preparation for the coming of Christ. Yet, he was one man, not rich, not powerful, who made a huge impact on the world.

Now, I’m not John the Baptist, but I know I can be a “voice crying in the wilderness.” How?

Every day, every single day, of a Biden/Harris Illegal Administration, I can share information about the bad things they will do. I can refuse to go along with whatever illegal mandates they impose. I can post protest signs in my yard, wear shirts with slogans. I can be relentless in researching everything they do or say and sharing my research with others.

But I will have to do what is uncomfortable, which is to attend political rallies and meetings, do a podcast, speak to others about my beliefs even when they want to shout me down or call me names. I’ll stop backing those who pretend to be one thing but are something else.

And I can pray. I can pray every single day that this country comes back to its roots of freedom and rule of law.

It won’t be easy. But, I am inspired by this quote of Winston Churchill, shared by Dutch Sheets, “We shall fight in the fields and in the streets. We shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender.”

It may seem overly dramatic to compare Churchill’s speech about fighting Hitler in World War II to our situation now. But is it? This may be our world changing battle, our tipping point, as we fight those who want to install an authoritarian, collectivist, tyrannical government that will sell us out to China and a new world order.

I’m only one person. My actions may only affect a few. But, if we all band together and fight for our beliefs, we may turn this country back to our core values. But as Reagan said, ” You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We’ll preserve for our children this last best hope of man on earth, or sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.”

I’m working for the last best hope of man on earth, for at least 1,460 days.

After a roller coaster week of good news and bad news, the Supreme Court ruled yesterday that the 21 state suit against PA, Mich, etc. wasn’t going forward. The strange reason was, in a paraphrase, ” We are prejudging that we aren’t going to rule in your favor without seeing one shred of evidence because we don’t think this is something you can sue about so we aren’t even going to give you a shot.” So, in other words, “We have already decided the case without evidence.” Hmmmm. Interesting. And disturbing.

Who knew that the Supreme Court, even with two Trump nominees who we fought so hard for, were cowards. Well, except for Thomas and Alito who stated that the SCOTUS is obligated to take up any case that involves the court’s “original jurisdiction.” They also said that this was a rule on technicality, not merit. Well, there you go. Damn you Rudy, you didn’t dot all the “i’s” and cross all the “t’s.” Or maybe you misspelled someone’s name.

First, let me say that we knew it wouldn’t be easy. And, it shouldn’t be. Overturning the results of an election should be hard work with tons of evidence and testimony. Otherwise, any time someone wasn’t happy with the results, they would just overturn them.

Problem is there is a TON of evidence, from the obvious conflicts of interest of software company ownership, flagrant violation of election laws, interference and changing of vote tallies, unverifiable votes and on and on and on.

But, what about now? Where do we go from here? The President is not done and various sources such as his lawyers and others keep saying that they have other avenues to fight with. The technical issue with the suit sponsored by Texas may be fixed or there may be subsequent suits from within states. There are issues with foreign interference and criminal charges could be filed which might invalidate results. References are even made that involve martial law.

We have to exhaust every avenue. If we don’t we will end up with an administration so far left, so tied to China, and so totalitarian that we will never again have a fair election. The damage done may be beyond repair.

I’m in for the long run. As the Trump attorneys say, the deadline is really in January. And we need to keep fighting this at least that long.

It won’t be easy. But neither was the Revolution, or the Civil War, or World War I and II. And yet, we won at the end.

And I believe we will win this fight too.

Have you met that person at the store or the gym who, when you talk to them, says they have ” no idea” about what is going on because they aren’t interested in politics?

I have. And every time I do I give them this look that is a cross between shock, horror and disbelief.

How can you live in this time and not know what is happening? Imagine living in 1941 and not knowing about Pearl Harbor. Or in 2001 and not knowing about 9-11.

It’s not possible.

When I question them further, they tell me they don’t watch the news. Or that they are so busy at work that they don’t have time to pay attention.

Really? They never watch television? They never get on social media? They never read a newspaper for God’s sake?

It’s not possible and it’s not true. They know what is going on. They have to.

And that is what makes it worse. They know what is going on yet they want to hide away from it and act as if it isn’t happening. Maybe they hope that if they ignore it, it will all go away. After all, it’s just an election. It’s just a shutdown of the economy.

I’ve got news for them. It won’t go away. Ask the citizens of Venezuela or the business owners in their community who are closing their doors. But, it’s not affecting the people with their heads in the sand.

But it will. And when it does, they will come to us and shout the unfairness of it all and how something has to be done.

But then it will be too late.

When they do come to me complaining, I’m going to look at them and say, “I’m sorry but I don’t watch the news and I’m too busy to care about what is going on with you.” And then I am going to say, as I walk away, “We asked you to notice, but you were too big of a coward to do what was right, and too big a coward to avoid doing what you knew was wrong .” ( adapted from GREAT EXPECTATIONS from Charles Dickens.

I have read many books about the 15th and 16th century in Great Britain. As a result, I have learned so many reasons why our Founders wrote the Constitution and set up our country the way they did.

For those who have not studied this time period and others before and after that involved the reigns of kings, the quick and dirty is that, during these times if a citizen said something the King didn’t like or the Church didn’t like, they could be arrested, tortured and killed. It didn’t matter what was said, it just mattered that the King and/or the church didn’t like it.

It seems we are returning to those restrictions. Even though we don’t have a “king” per se, we have a de facto royal class and that royal class, while claiming to be in favor of the separation of church and state, have their own religion, progressivism.

It seems weird, because these are the people with the “co-exist” bumper stickers, the “unity” signs, the pink vagina hats, the black lives matter signs, the anti-police shirts, and the anti-religion tirades and on and on. They exist on Facebook and Twitter examining every post, every picture that contains anything they disapprove of and immediately demanding it be removed and the poster banned.

But that is how religious zealots act, and these people are that. They believe in a religion where their viewpoints are the dogma and anyone who doesn’t agree with their dogma is an infidel that needs to be silenced and punished.

You say, ” All Lives Matter?” You are an infidel. Say that there are two biological sexes? Infidel. Dispute Covid data and measures? Denier and infidel. You have violated the doctrine of the religion of Progressivism.

They claim they want to ” listen to the science” but they don’t accept the scientific conclusions of any scientist who doesn’t conform to their beliefs. Just act the doctors who have published comments against Covid lockdowns and mask mandates.

It reminds me of the battle that Galileo had against the church in 1633. Galileo wrote that the sun, not the earth, was the center of the universe based on his work and the work of Copernicus. The church tried Galileo for the crime of heresy. He was found guilty, even though he tried to recant some of his writing. Luckily, he wasn’t killed, but his life was ruined. Of course, we know now that he was correct.

Nowadays, the courts are in social media, Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc. Posts that don’t go along with the religion of Progressivism are ” fact checked,” blocked, and banned. Recently, I had two posts which were “hidden” or had a clarification “pop up “because Facebook didn’t like them. One was hidden because fact checkers found it was false. They posted the information that they said was correct. Funny thing is, the “true” post wasn’t even on the topic I had originally posted about. The second one was a picture of the President and the First Lady holding a remembrance for Pearl Harbor Day. For some reason, Facebook found it crucial to enable a “pop up” about the “probable results of the national election.” What? Do they know that Trump is President, regardless of the election results, until the end of his term? Again, the religion of Progressivism had to insert it’s dogma and “gospel according the Zuckerberg.”

And if being a victim of the “inquisition” from social media isn’t enough, Hollywood celebrities, pro athletes, the news media, politicians, and every entertainment franchise available will pile on with their “religious” diatribes. Say something not in line and Alyssa Milano, inconsequential B level actress, will Tweet something about it. Better yet, Kathy Griffin will pretend to cut your head off.

Meanwhile, traditional religions are oppressed with public derision and actual government restrictions. Even the greeting ” Merry Christmas” is said to be hateful. When President Trump referenced people being able to say ” Merry Christmas” again, the Michigan AG, Dana Nessel, whose child must be made out of isinglass, immediately tweeted that her child was devastated a few years ago when a store employee had said ” Merry Christmas” to them. He asked if they were ” the only Americans who didn’t celebrate Christmas.” She answered, “no and we are just as American as everyone else. ” She then threw in the side note that Joe Biden understands that. ( Although honestly, Dana, Joe has trouble remembering who his wife is, so….) This is an officer of the court, a person who should be reasonable. But, to use a phrase, “zealots gonna zealot.”

The Governors of California and other states prohibit citizens from going to church while allowing them to protest about “social justice.” Clear message? “Church” not an acceptable form of religion, “social justice” IS religion.

While I will admit that my church, the Catholic Church, certainly was oppressive throughout history, I think even the most power hungry Pope of those times would be impressed by the sheer coverage of this new Progressive Religion. After all, they have even been able to lure the current Pope into their holy platitudes and their constant criticism of the freedoms of our country.

The final conclusion? We have to admit that any religion can be twisted and distorted into a tyrannical cult. Think about Jim Jones and David Koresh. Look at Muslim extremists. But this religion of Progressivism seems to have outdone all the rest. And they will punish severely anyone who doesn’t drink their Kool Aid.

And that is terrifying. Because once they control medical care, schools, food supply, transportation and the economy in their Socialist utopia, heretics and non-believers will be either re-educated or eliminated. And if Biden is somehow declared the winner, the zealots will be in charge. again.

All of a sudden this week the video comes out. It’s a video about coming together, getting back on track, and making us stronger. It’s about unity.

Think I’m talking about the video version of the stupid Unity signs being posted all over by Democrats?

You are wrong.

This is a video posted on Larry Hogan’s ( Republican Governor of Maryland) Facebook page. It’s slickly done, Larry has lost weight and looks tan all of a sudden, and the script is all about getting the Republican party back together and strong.

And it is sickening. More sickening than the ” unity ” signs of the totalitarian Democrats.

Why?

There are so many reasons. First of all, Larry Hogan, who has been Governor for eight years, has done virtually NOTHING that even remotely looks like a part of the Republican Party agenda. He hasn’t lowered taxes, repealed liberal policies, gotten the Maryland budget under control, or anything else he said he would do. In fact, in many ways he has acted more like a Progressive Democrat.

And then there’s the part where he used Covid to act as a dictator and destroy small businesses and the economy in Maryland. He has barked mask orders and lockdowns with threats, tried to cancel Thanksgiving for families, and enacted the most illogical and contradictory rules regarding groups and gatherings. He wasted millions on faulty South Korean Covid tests and then praised his wife for her great heroism. ( I guess getting on an airplane to visit your home country is heroic? Who knew.)

He has written a self serving book filled with self love and arrogant self congratulation. And who will ever forget his television appearances where he patted himself on the back so many times I think he has a big bruise.

And, for those who don’t know, he has also taken this time to insult and ban people from his public Facebook page if he doesn’t like what they say. I know I have had several posts deleted.

All while he was insulting the current President with comments about how he would write in a vote for Ronald Reagan instead of voting for Trump.

But now he wants us all to forget that and help him ” rebuild” the Republican party. Would that be in his image? I don’t think so.

Larry, it’s not working. Not now, not ever. We won’t forget who you are no matter how much lard you lose or songs of reconciliation you sing. Many of us won’t vote for you as trash collector much less President.

You are a fake, a liar and an asshole. And quite frankly, if we wanted to unify with anyone like that, we could choose a Democrat, which we won’t do either.

Every time I put a comment or a sharply worded post directed to Biden supporters on social media, I get this kind of comment from a fellow Conservative, ” Don’t stoop to their level. We need to take the high road.”

I understand their point. For years I would have agreed with it.

No more.

I liken our current circumstances to being in a physical fight with someone who wants to seriously hurt or kill you. I can’t imagine anyone fighting for their life or the lives of others would consider taking the “high road” in the fight. Taking the “high road” might get you killed. Ask any policeman or soldier.

I know that I am comparing fighting to what is a war of words. Sticks and stones and all that crap, right? We should ignore when our opponents call us racists, grandma killers, etc. and tell us that we need to go to a re-education camp, or, worse, die. Except we can’t anymore. Because letting liberals and Progressives continue this nasty battle with impunity is turning our country into a land of repression of free speech and winning by intimidation.

How many times have we seen it? A company or public figure comes out in support of police or says something radical like ” All Lives Matter.” In a matter of seconds, every speech bully descends on them with the horrific name calling and allegations. Before we know it, the company/public figure retracts the statement and donates millions of dollars to some terrorist organization like BLM. Using words, the left has repressed the free speech of the company/public figure and has extorted money from them. Meanwhile, the rest of us sit on the sideline and shake our heads at how this has occurred.

No one is willing to fight back. Everyone wants to take the “high road.”

This is particularly prevalent among Republicans. Apparently, the Republican party has either decided that taking a stand on anything, even if it is the ethical thing to do, is too dangerous, too much of a risk. So, at the first sign of any backlash, they rush to their safe spaces to figure out how to do nothing about anything. But, they will defend themselves by saying, ” We don’t want to stoop to their level.”

Well, let’s see. I wonder what would have happened if, in World War II we had decided we had better not fight because fighting would be stooping to Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo’s level. What would our world be like? It’s frightening to think about it.

And where has this strategy gotten us with any of the crazy leftwing groups who want to destroy this country? It’s put us in the middle of a fake pandemic where governments implement tyranny. It’s gotten us riots. destruction and city takeovers, murders of police, insane segregation and degradation of anyone not classified as a “person of color.” It’s gotten us unjustified public crucifixions of Supreme Court candidates, candidates and even Presidents. It’s gotten us open threats of violence on political figures by actors, comedians, athletes, and even government officials. It’s lead to home grown terrorist groups threatening violence every time things don’t go their way. It’s led us to open fraud and theft of a Presidential election. All because we want to take the higher ground instead of saying ” enough is enough” and fighting back.

It needs to stop.

Stop measuring your words. Stop being the nice person and trying to go along to get along. Stop lying about your beliefs or making them secondary to everyone else’s. Stop qualifying your opinions with phrases that validate the actions of true racists, fascists, and tyrants. Trust me, they won’t qualify one word of their opinions. Have you ever heard any radical say, ” Yes, I know that most police are not racist, but…” No. They go straight to “Defund the police.”

Hold the left accountable for their opinions and the inconsistencies in them. Force them to state actual facts and not just platitudes to support their outrageous comments. Point out their hypocrisy and hammer them with it.

Granted, you will lose friends. You will be called a “right wing nut.” You might even have threats thrown at you. Trust me, they will do all those to you anyway. People who want to hate your for who you are will do that no matter what you say or do. It is what has happened to Trump. Yet, the man has stayed true to his beliefs and his mission. And he fights back. Because he knows the truth.

He knows we can no longer take the high road.

Because from where I sit, the high road has gotten us looking over a steep cliff that we will get pushed off of.

Every morning when I run, I wave and say hello to people as I go, whether I know them or not. A friend of mine asked me why I do that.

It started back when I was taking my kids to school one morning. There was road work on the road and a flagman was there directing traffic. I had the usual reaction that we all have when we see a flagman. I just knew it was going to be a mess as traffic backed up.

But this flagman made it different. He smiled and waved at people as he held up his sign. He made eye contact with drivers. He acknowledged us. I remember thinking that this guy made his life easier and our lives better with just a smile and a wave. He let us know that even though we might get slowed down in traffic, he was going to make it as pleasant as possible.

So I started waving at all cars and saying hello to people I passed on my run. At first, people either didn’t notice or responded with that,” Should I know that person,” look. After a while, they started waving back and smiling. Pedestrians said “hello” back. We acknowledged each other and gave notice that we knew that we were humans who deserved a greeting.

Most of the time, that is the way it goes. Granted, there are a few people who give me a nasty look because they don’t like the political views on my shirt, or maybe they are from an area where people aren’t friendly. When they do that, I just smile bigger and yell, ” Have a GREAT day!” at them.

But, I got thinking on my morning run today that most of the bad that is happening today is because we stopped acknowledging and hearing each other. Actually, I think the reason that social media has been so popular is because it has been our chance to be acknowledged and heard in the public square.

Think about it. Of all the Presidential candidates in 2016, only ONE of them acknowledged the American people and heard what they were saying. And it wasn’t Hillary or Jeb or any of the big government wonks running. It was Trump. That’s why his rallies were so big, because he acknowledged and listened to his supporters and even those who weren’t supporters originally. That’s why he won. And that’s why the social media platforms and mainstream media have shut him down for the past five years. They hoped to keep him separated from the American people. It’s also why they have worked so hard to steal this election. More on that later.

In my 31 years in education, I discovered that most people who had a complaint just wanted someone, anyone, to listen to them and acknowledge that they existed and needed a problem addressed. It didn’t even matter sometimes if you could give them what they wanted or not, they just wanted to know you knew. If you listened and were honest with them, they might not be happy but they would respect you.

But now, I see public officials who don’t really want to acknowledge people, much less listen to them. Take Governor Larry Hogan for example. Supposedly, Larry was a successful businessman before his political life. I find it hard to believe it was because of how he dealt with people, because his willingness to communicate with his constituents, the people of Maryland, is non-existent. When he first announced a lockdown and closing of businesses way back in March, it appeared as if Larry either didn’t know what a hardship this would cause his citizens or he just didn’t care. Not once then, or since then, has he voiced one single word of empathy with those losing their jobs and businesses. In fact, he has spent more time chastising people and threatening them.

This said to the people of Maryland, ” I don’t acknowledge you and I sure as hell don’t want to listen.” On his Facebook page, he, or one of this adolescent internet staff, answers concerns with, ” I can do what I want,” and ” If you don’t like what I say why are you on my page.” This has made people angry in their frustration. Add to that the totalitarian attitude of the so called public servants of the various counties and you have a recipe for revolt. All because he, and they, have no interest in who the people in Maryland are.

Other examples are the mainstream news media and social media. News media has decided, for whatever reason, that they don’t want to acknowledge the existence of people who have different viewpoints from Progressives. They ignore them and block their thoughts and ideas. It’s gotten so bad that most people consider these outlets as mere propaganda.

Social media is even worse. Facebook, directed by a man who seemingly is a machine himself, actively blocks or derides the varying opinions of its users. Then they get upset when people leave. They have forgotten that the main purpose of social media is to let people have a say and communicate with others.

No wonder people are angry.

And now we have an election result that is most certainly fraudulent and NO ONE wants to hear the concerns of 71 million voters who are frustrated by the fact that the only ones wanting to listen and address the issue are Trump and his lawyers. One would think that Biden supporters wouldn’t want at least half if not more of the people in this country to think he stole the election. You’d think they would want the truth.

But they don’t. They are like the fans of a sports team that cheated and won the World Series. They want to celebrate the fact that they “won” even if it was by dishonest means and then run and hide behind their “Unity” signs.

So, back to Trump. In the last five years, he seems like the only politician who really gives a damn about people on both sides. He has done more for African Americans, Hispanics, and the working class. He’s the only one who acknowledges that people are tired of double standards for people like the Clintons and the Obamas. Yes, he makes fun of some people and he tweets too much, but it’s usually after people take a cheap shot at him. He listens and acknowledges who the people are. And we love him for it.

And the media, news and social, have attempted to shut that down.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden, hiding in his basement, plans to install the same group of stale bad actors who have been in place before. They never cared then, and they don’t now.

But, let me put him and all political figures who think they can get away with it on notice. When they don’t listen and acknowledge millions of people, the consequences, both political and practical, will be catastrophic.

It started a few years back with the movement to get rid of Columbus Day.

Native American activists decried Columbus as a murderer and the person responsible for the decimation of the Native Americans in the New World. First, let me say, I’m sure he was a murderer. In the 15th Century, that was the way of mankind. If you found a new place, a new culture, you eliminated it so you and yours could take over. I don’t remember reading about too many explorers who didn’t do that. And, I also know that the indigenous people did the same to other tribes. It was a savage, brutal world.

There is a saying, ” History is written by the victors.” This is true, whether it’s fair or not. So, for hundreds of years, Columbus was honored and we created a day to celebrate him. I think the day was actually created to celebrate the accomplishments of explorers and Italians. He had statues and even cities named after him. And, I will admit, his legacy was white washed and sanitized.

So I get why Native Americans would be testy about that.

But, now, other celebrations are under attack with the same premise, that their origins were flawed and sometimes even evil. Is the purpose to make our lives better, more meaningful, or just to rid our culture of anything that defines us a Americans?

Let’s take Thanksgiving. Of all the American holidays, you would think that it would be the least offensive of all. It’s a day to get together with family and give thanks for our blessings. Pretty simple.

Of course, the history is much more complicated. We all know the story of the Pilgrims and how Squanto and the Wampanoag, a local tribe, formed an alliance allowing the Pilgrims to learn how to live off the land here. In 1621, William Bradford, Governor, organized a feast that lasted three days and became the first Thanksgiving. In 1789, George Washington called upon Americans to have a day of thanks for the successful War of Independence. The holiday grew national prominence with Abraham Lincoln and finally, Franklin D. Roosevelt. Of course, the holiday’s meaning and process has morphed as the years have passed.

Native Americans dispute the original story of the holiday because they say it ignores the facts that the European settlers and Native Americans had a bloody history leading to the deaths of tens of thousands. Many protesters now gather on Plymouth Rock for a day of mourning on Thanksgiving Day.

Now, as the fracturing of our country along ethnic and racial lines seems to be more prevalent, those who want to “virtue signal” voice their solidarity with each group with a tactic to remove those holidays and historic figures deemed evil by these groups. It started out with the Confederate flag and now has worked it’s way to any European figure in our history. It’s not just those who fought for the confederacy but now ANY one, Abraham Lincoln included. Even black figures such as Frederick Douglass are being removed.

And they are working their way to Thanksgiving Day stating that its origins should eliminate it.

Which brings up my point. Are the origins of a holiday justification to remove it from our culture? If they are, we won’t have any holidays, and culture left. Let’s examine this.

Most of our holidays, including Christmas, New Years, Easter, etc. have their lineage traced to the celebrations of ancient cultures. Take Christmas for example. Though Christians celebrate the birth of Christ on Christmas, the holiday itself have its beginnings in Rome, as part of Saturnalia, the time before the winter solstice when the Romans would abandoned most rules and morals and celebrate Saturn in the most hedonistic ways. They also celebrated the birth of Mithra, the god of the unconquerable sun, on December 25th.

Certainly this is not the holy, sacred origin Christians would want celebrated. But, does this mean all Christians should eliminate the Christmas holiday?

I think the answer comes with thinking about how the holiday is celebrated now. Certainly, the commercialization of the day is not the paragon of what we claim we want, but the other side of that is giving to others. We give gifts, we help others, we think about peace, brotherhood. The holiday has morphed beyond it’s ancient origins to become something inspirational.

I don’t think I know anyone thinks to themselves, ” Boy, I sure am proud of those hedonistic Romans. Let’s celebrate them. “

The same goes for Thanksgiving. I have no problem in acknowledging the negative aspects of European settling of this country and the fact that the Thanksgiving myth we have been raised with is inaccurate. But I also think that the holiday has such a different meaning NOW that it is a positive influence on the culture of our country. By removing it, we are saying, ” We can’t celebrate being thankful for blessings because atrocities happened on both sides of the historical groups involved in its founding.” If that’s the case, don’t celebrate anyone, because no group is totally clean of horrible acts.

Instead, why not celebrate the holiday as an example of the evolution of our country throughout its history and our dedication to becoming better? Why can’t we celebrate and be thankful for what we have?

Unfortunately, in the war to cancel culture and destroy a country, no holidays, no celebrations can exist except at the approval of the so called “politically correct and ‘woke’ crowd. ” We must all focus on the negative and never the positive. And we must never feel close to our families and our culture, because these things will get in the way of the collective agenda.

So, all of you groups with your other holiday, watch out. The move to cancel culture doesn’t end with someone else’s celebrations, it comes to eliminate yours as well.

As for me and mine, we will celebrate while understanding that beginnings are not always the most important thing. Holidays are what we make them.
