Revelation 3:16- So then because thou are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth.
Wow. This not saying, ” I get it if you don’t want to take sides,” or ” Compromise is awesome.” It says if you can’t be on one side or the other, you are useless.
I have a confession and an apology.
The confession is that I have been lukewarm. I have been lukewarm in so many things, my faith, my patriotism, my political involvement, and on and on.
The apology is to my parents and my ancestors. Because of their sacrifices, their bravery, and their beliefs, I got to live in a free country where I could own property, have free speech, and create my own destiny. Most specifically, my father fought and served his entire life for that. And what have I done with that legacy?
Like most of us, I sat back. I let someone else do the heavy lifting. I enjoyed the benefits of my country while I ignored taking on the hard work required to keep it free. Sure, every four years I voted for candidates I thought would be good for the country. I called myself a member of a certain party without monitoring their actions. But never, not once, did I use my voice to impact what they did or how they did it. I ceded that to the elected officials. I was politically lazy.
My excuses were many. I had too much work to do. I was raising my children. The people I work for won’t like it. It’s uncomfortable for me to speak out.
And now look where we are.
We are here looking over a cliff that leads to a country in which we will not have freedom of speech, of assembly, the right to bear arms, and the right to create our own destiny without government approval. We are looking at a country which is being over taken by a Communist ideology without firing a single shot. They have gained complete control while we looked the other way. They paid off our officials, our media, our banks, and our tech companies. They indoctrinated our children.
It doesn’t matter to them that there are more than 75 million of us. They have seen is in action and they know we are lukewarm. They don’t even have to break a sweat to break us. They own us.
Or at least they THINK they do.
Because, while I will apologize to my parents for ignoring for so long the hard work it takes to maintain freedom, I will also make a promise to them.
I am done being lukewarm. I am activated. I am speaking out. I am getting involved in politics. I am going to hold our leaders accountable. I will put my financial and personal resources toward fighting the Leftist/Socialists/Communists.
I will fight.
And I will not be lukewarm.
